For the love of God, if you are not paying your bills with banking online, you need to start! Get rid of your fear that it is not secure. Wells Fargo, as most banks online, has 128 bit encryption, which at this time, has never been cracked. The only thing you have to worry about is leaving your password somewhere. Even if you leave your computer, banks will automatically log you out after so many minutes of inactivity (it is too quick if you ask me).
The benefits of banking online far outweigh any security issues you might think could happen. For starters, it gives you an instant report of your cash flow coming in and out so nothing can get past you. With Wells, I literally have 8 accounts and can manage all of them from the same area. I can download and review statements, see cashed checks, make instant money transfers and stop payments. The best part about banking online is the ability to pay your bills. You can add all of your payees and have your bank send them checks, goodbye envelopes and stamps. You can even automate payments so you never have to worry about your power going out when you forget to pay your bills. The larger bank you go with the better online tools they will have.
With the vast reach and convenience of ATMs, I really have no need to enter a bank anymore. The Internet is really simplifying our lives and giving us more time to spend it how we please. I do not miss the days of driving to the bank and waiting in lines.
